Raffle
“I won!”

Yuki sighed. “Yes, stupid cat, you won.”

“Haha! You didn’t win! I won! I am the winner!” Kyou crowed, jumping up and down and punching the air.

Yuki put a hand over his eyes, wishing the ground would swallow him up so he wouldn’t have to watch Kyou making a spectacle of himself in front of large numbers of strangers. “Kyou . . .” he began, “. . . it was a raffle.”

Quick as a flash, Kyou was in his face, glowering. “You’re just a sore loser,” he said. “Can’t take it that the cat won, eh, ratty?”

Yuki stared back as calmly as he could. “I hardly think a game won by luck is anything to be proud of,” he replied.

Kyou grinned at him nastily. “It means my luck is better than yours, though,” he said.

Yuki rolled his eyes. “Whatever makes you happy.”
