I really like Gaara, and it is really difficult to find him written well. Largely because he is a bloody awkward character to write. I also really, really like Shikamaru/Temari, which is also difficult to find well-written. This fic has both, which gives me lovely warm fuzzies, even if the quote at the end is kind of pointless and distracting.

I really, really love fics like this. Which probably makes me twisted, but hey. The author manages to keep Naruto and Sasuke in character while a) getting them into bed together, and b) making them have really, really bad sex. Because hey, you can't be good at everything, right?

The link goes to the last of this four-part fic, because the last part has links to the previous three.
As should be obvious by now, I have a huge soft spot for Naruto/Gaara. Almost as big as my soft spot for Sakura. This fic made me squirm with glee for more than just being a well-written Naruto/Gaara fic, though - it dealt with the issue of Sasuke, and dealt with it well. That's not to say that the "dealing" was neat - anything involving Naruto and Sasuke is always going to be messy and with more than a few jagged edges. But the fic read to me as a realisation on Naruto's part, making Sasuke past and something new future. It's as much about moving on and letter go as it is about forming a new bond.

While Sakura/Sasuke isn't one of my favourite pairings (because no matter how much I love him Sasuke is a DICK and Sakura deserves better), this fic takes all the parts of Sakura and Sasuke that I love and shows how they do sort of fit together. The last line clinched it for me and made me decide to rec this fic.

There are some stories where the title automatically puts you in a good frame of mind for the rest of the fic. This is one of them. It is just as silly, smutty and full of boy-logic as the title suggests, plus there is Sakura being awesome. It's an AU, but in a good way.

As should be obvious by now, I have a deep affection for Naruto/Sakura/Sasuke OT3 fics. However, I also have a deep affection for Sai that I get to indulge far less often, so this fic is special anyway because it didn't ignore Sai the way so many post-timeskip team 7 fics do.
The characterisation in this fic, though, is the real reason I'm reccing it. For one thing, during a good portion of the fic Sakura and Sasuke, at least, are very drunk, and writing someone in character while drunk is very difficult to do - making any change in behaviour believable, for whatever reason, is quite an accomplishment and this fic does it very well. Read it and see for yourself.

This fic is a complete multiparter - the link to the next part can be found at the bottom of each entry.
I don't agree with some of the characterisation later on in the fic, but that's purely personal opinion. Earlier on, however, Sasuke's characterisation struck truer than most I've seen, enough so that it would make sense for him to have the convictions he does. It's an interesting take on Sasuke, mostly, and on how he might think/feel/act in the circumstances created in the fic. (Can you tell I'm trying not to spoil it for you?)
